Yuppik is the name of a husky dog that made a deep impression on Flint Juventino Beppe in 1991. His owner had trained Yuppik to produce wolf-like howls on command, and these sounds incited this composition. Beppe dedicated Lonely Fryshild Op.6 to Yuppik.
